Tougaloo College Women's Cross Country Team Secures Runner-Up Finish at HBCU Athletic Conference Championship
Danville, AL, [10/21/2024] – The Tougaloo College Women's Cross Country team proudly claimed the runner-up title at the 2024 Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Championship, held at Oakville Indian Mounds in Danville, Alabama. With a strong team effort, the Bulldogs accumulated 79 points and achieved two standout top-10 finishes, securing their place among the conference's elite teams.
Leading the Bulldogs were All-HBCUAC honorees Ta'Mya Sims and Herlancia Miller, who achieved fourth and fifth-place finishes with times of 27:59.46 and 27:59.89, respectively. Sims and Miller's exceptional performances earned them All-HBCUAC honors and placed them among the top four finishers, not on the winning team. Both athletes will advance to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Championship, scheduled for November 22, 2024, at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri.
