TOUGALOO FINISHES STRONG IN WATSON FORD INVITATIONAL
Tougaloo, MS-The Tougaloo College Women's Cross Country team traveled across town to Clinton, MS to participate in the Watson Ford Invitational Meet hosted by Mississippi College at Choctaw Trails. The Lady Bulldogs finished 3rd out of 6 teams in the Non Division I category with 131 points.
After much practice and hard work, it finally paid off for the Lady Bulldogs in the Watson Ford Invitational Meet, as they would have a great finish, coming in 3rd place in the Non-Division I category. The team had a total time of 2:29:27.11, which actually was better than Division I school Southern University. Conference foe Xavier University won the meet with a score of 37 points and host school Mississippi College finished 2nd with a score of 37 as well. East Texas Baptist followed the Lady Bulldogs in 4th with a score of 131, Hendrix finished 5th with a score of 132, and Hinds Community College finished last with a score of 134.
Brianna Blunt paced the Lady Bulldogs, finishing 13th out of 44 runners with a time of 27:07.70. Blunt would receive a t-shirt for her strong finish, as did the other top 20 runners received t-shirts as well. Finishing behind Blunt was Laurel Oldershaw, who finished 22nd with a time of 28:40.11. Daniela Thomas finished 26th with a time of 29:38.46 and Erin Wells finished 30th with a time of 30:04.60. Other runners included Whitney Warnsley, Toynel Brown, and Keisha Mackall. The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action again on Saturday, October 13th as they travel back to Clinton, MS to participate in the Choctaw Open hosted by Mississippi College.
