Lady Bulldogs Drop Hard Fought Match to Dillard
Tougaloo, Miss. - The Tougaloo Lady Bulldogs played host to Dillard University in its final conference game of the season for a chance at 2nd place in the conference. The Dillard Lady Bleu Devils won that battle; defeating the Lady Bulldogs in straight sets (15-25, 24-26, 23-25) to take 2nd place spot.
In the first meeting between the Lady Bulldogs and Lady Bleu Devils in the Battlefield, the Lady Bulldogs made it look easy as they dominated the Lady Bleu Devils in straight sets (25-18, 25-21, 25-23). This time, the Lady Bleu Devils were prepare to return the favor to the Lady Bulldogs in the Dawg Pound. A much improved defensive Lady Bleu Devils team poured it on the Lady Bulldogs and capitalized on the Lady Bulldogs' many errors to get the victory.
Megan Besecker led the Lady Bulldogs with 13 kills followed by Carolyne Edwards with 10 kills. Alexandra Jwainat had 28 assists. Kayla Cole led the defense with 22 digs. Taylor Kangethe followed with 13 digs and Jessica Porter added 12 digs. The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action on Thursday as they play host to Alcorn State University in a non-conference match. First whistle is set to blow at 6:00 P.M. in the Dawg Pound.
