Lady Bulldogs Win Fifth Straight Conference Match
Talladega, Ala. - The Tougaloo College Lady Bulldogs are on a five game conference win streak following a tough 3-2 win over Talladega College today in Talladega. The win sits the Lady Bulldogs at 6-2 GCAC, 13-7 overall.
The Lady Bulldogs have been on a winning spree this season. After starting the season at 1-5, the Lady Bulldogs were on an 11-2 stretch before traveling to Talladega in hopes of extending that stretch to 12-2. The Lady Bulldogs jumped out early, taking a 2-0 lead with set victories of 25-18 and 25-15. With the match on the line, the Lady Tornadoes gained momentum and took the match into a deciding set by winning the third and fouth sets 25-20 and 28-26. In the fifth set, the Lady Bulldogs jumped to an early lead, but the Lady Tornadoes charged back to get back in the game, but in the end, the Lady Bulldogs proved to be too much for the Lady Tornadoes; taking the set 15-13 and walking away with a 3-2 victory.
Megan Besecker led the Lady Bulldogs with a career-high 25 kills. The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Lorman, MS for a tri-match against Alcorn State University and Mississippi College. The matches are sceduled for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
