Lady Bulldogs Knocks Off SUNO in Straight Sets

New Orleans, La. - The Tougaloo College Lady Bulldogs traveled to New Orleans, LA to take on Southern University of New Orleans in conference action in the Castle. The Lady Bulldogs knocked off the Lady Knights for only the second time in regular season play in the program's history.

After making history on Tuesday, the Lady Bulldogs seeked out to pick up a conference win over SUNO in the Castle. The Lady Bulldogs had never beaten the Lady Knights in the Castle, but that all changed this afternoon as the Lady Bulldogs rolled to a straight sets (25-22, 29-27, 25-22) victory over the Lady Knights.

Megan Besecker led the Lady Bulldogs with 9 kills followed by Carolyne Edwards with 7 kills. Alexander Jwainat had 15 assists. Kayla Cole led the defense with 23 digs followed by Taylor Kangethe with 11 digs. The win brings the Lady Bulldogs to 6-6 overall and 2-2 GCAC. The Lady Bulldogs will travel back to New Orleans on Monday to resume conference play as they take on Dillard University. First whistle is set for 6:00 P.M.
