Lady Bulldogs Ease Past Selma
Tougaloo, Miss. - The Tougaloo College Lady Bulldogs hosted Selma University for the first time since November 14, 2011 when they defeated Selma 74-72 in Selma. The Lady Bulldogs continued their win streak against Selma as they eased to a 68-54 victory on Tuesday night in the Dawg Pound.
After starting the season at 0-4, the Lady Bulldogs are on a 2-game win streak following a much needed victory over Selma University. The Lady Bulldogs jumped on Selma early in the game, holding them to only 6 points in the first quarter. The Lady Bulldogs continued to pour in on Selma and by halftime the Lady Bulldogs had a commanding 30-14 lead over Selma. In the second half, the Lady Bulldogs held strong and despite a late run by Selma, the Lady Bulldogs came out victorious.
Melissa Creese led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points. Montoria Atkinson and Chesha Lewis followed with 13 points apiece and Debraia Bell chipped in 11 points. The former Jim Hill duo of Atkinson and Bell were dominate on the boards, as Bell grabbed 19 rebounds and Atkinson grabbed 17 rebounds. The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to Lorman, MS to play Alcorn State University. Game time is set for 5:30 P.M.
