Lady Bulldogs Pick Up First Win of Season

Holly Springs, Miss. - The Tougaloo College Lady Bulldogs finally got over the hump as they received their first win of the 2017-18 campaign following a 57-55 win over Rust College.

After a 0-4 start, the Lady Bulldogs were determined to get revenge over Rust College and pick up their first win. The Lady Bulldogs started off very rocky, as the Lady Bearcats took an early lead. The Lady Bulldogs ate away at the lead, but at the half, the Lady Bearcats help a 33-29 edge over the Lady Bulldogs. In the 3rd quarter, the Lady Bulldogs continued to eat away at the Lady Bearcats lead and at the end of the quarter, the score was all tied at 40. In the 4th quarter, the Lady Bulldogs gain the lead from the Lady Bearcats. The Lady Bearcats put up a good fight, but the Lady Bulldogs held on to pick up the win.

Leading the way for the Lady Bulldogs was Montoria Atkinson with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Melissa Creese followed with 12 points and Chesha Lewis posted 10 points for the Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action on Tuesday, November 28th as they host Selma University. Game time is set for 5:00 P.M. in the Dawg Pound.
