Eric Pilcher

Bio

Coach Pilcher is entering his fifth season as head men's and women's cross country coach at Tougaloo College. Coming to the athletics department in October 2007 as the Sports Information Director, Coach Pilcher assumed the head cross country coach position in 2019.

Tougaloo is Coach Pilcher's first-ever coaching experience. In 2021, Coach Pilcher was voted GCAC Co-Coach of the Year.  Since his tenure as head coach, Coach Pilcher has had seven All-Conference runners, one of which includes the school's first-ever individual champion in 2022, Abel Fitwi.  In the last two seasons, the men's cross country team has finished third place in the GCAC Conference Championship. 

He is honored and humbled to be placed in this position and he remains optimistic about his role as coach and having a successful season. He says that he will continue to work hard to ensure that his players gain the full experience of a college athlete.

Coach Pilcher is a native of Itta Bena, MS, and a 2003 honor graduate of Leflore County High School. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with an Emphasis in Business Administration from Tougaloo College in May 2007. Coach Pilcher is currently working to obtain a Master's of Athletic Administration degree from Mississippi College in Clinton, MS.
