SHREVEPORT, La. — The Tougaloo College Bulldogs saw their season come to a close Friday night, falling 94–88 to LSU Shreveport Pilots in the opening round of the NAIA National Tournament in Shreveport.
Despite the loss, the Bulldogs delivered a resilient performance, highlighted by a historic outing from senior Antonio Patterson. In his final game in a Tougaloo uniform, Patterson poured in a career-high 40 points while adding 11 rebounds, leading all scorers and keeping the Bulldogs within striking distance throughout the contest.
Tougaloo battled from start to finish against a tough Pilots squad, trading momentum in a fast-paced, high-scoring game. The Bulldogs showed poise and determination, but LSU Shreveport capitalized on key possessions down the stretch to secure the victory.
Also closing out their Bulldog careers were Tyler Hudson and Willie Anderson, who each contributed 16 points in the effort. Their leadership and scoring presence helped anchor Tougaloo's offensive attack in a competitive matchup.
With the loss, the Bulldogs conclude their season with a 19–10 record. While the tournament run ends earlier than hoped, the team's fight, growth, and senior leadership leave a lasting mark on the program.
Tougaloo exits the season with pride, honoring a senior class that played a pivotal role in the team's success and setting the foundation for the future.
