BULLDOGS CAPTURE 2026 HBCUAC WESTERN DIVISION TITLE
The Tougaloo College Bulldogs have once again etched their name at the top of the standings, clinching the HBCU Athletic Conference Western Division Title with an impressive 10–2 conference record.
This year's division crown adds to a remarkable run for the program. Prior to this season, the Bulldogs had already claimed four consecutive regular season championships, establishing themselves as the dominant force in the conference. The latest title further cements Tougaloo's place among the conference's elite and reinforces the consistency the program has sustained year after year.
Head Coach Eric Strothers continues to set the tone for that success. Under Strothers' leadership, the Bulldogs have built a culture rooted in preparation, accountability, and competitive toughness. His steady guidance has helped the team navigate the challenges of conference play while maintaining focus on the bigger picture: competing for championships.
Throughout the season, Tougaloo displayed balance on both ends of the floor, resilience in tight contests, and the ability to execute in critical moments. Key road victories and strong home performances propelled the Bulldogs to the top of the standings, showcasing their depth and unity as a team.
With the Western Division title secured, Tougaloo now turns its attention to postseason play. The Bulldogs have earned an automatic bye in the HBCUAC Basketball Tournament, which will be held February 24, 2026 – March 1, 2026 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The early-round bye provides valuable preparation time as the team looks to build on its regular season success and make a deep tournament run.
