Bulldogs Roll Past Philander 96-82

Tougaloo, Miss. - After suffering a loss to Xavier on Saturday night, the Bulldogs jumped back on the winning side of things with a 96-82 victory over Philander Smith College Monday night in the Dawg Pound.

The Bulldogs wasted no time jumping on the Panthers; taking an early lead and never looking back. The Bulldogs sealed the deal in the first half, taking a 45-31 halftime lead. In the second half, the Bulldogs and the Panthers went toe-to-toe, but the damage was already done and the Bulldogs claimed the victory to advance to 9-4, 2-1 GCAC.

Tonzell Handy led the Bulldogs with 27 points and 14 rebounds. Derrick Ashley followed with 24 points, Jadarius Haymer tacked in 15 points and Denarius Odell chipped in 12 points. Anferenee Parker had 11 assists for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to LeMoyne Owen College for a non-conference match-up. Tip-off is set for 7:30 P.M.
