Bulldogs Suffer Second Loss of the Season
Grambling, La. - The Tougaloo College Men's Basketball Team suffered its second loss of the season on Monday at the hands of Division I foe Grambling State University 111-95.
Although the Bulldogs shot 50% from the field and 74% from the charity stripe and scored 95 points, it still was not enough to tame the Tigers of Grambling State. In the first half of play, the Bulldogs were down as many as 20 points, but fought their way back into the game and only had a 13-point deficient (57-44) at the half point. In the second half, the Bulldogs cut the lead down to within 4 points several times, but found themselves in foul trouble as 4 players fouled out. The Bulldogs continued to fight, but the Tigers of Grambling State escaped with the victory.
Tonzell Handy led five Bulldogs in double figure scoring with 26 points. Jadarius Haymer followed with 22 points, Denarius Odell tacked in 15 points, Anfernee Parker chipped in 11 points and Carlo McDonald added 10 points. The Bulldogs will have a long break due to final exams and will resume play on December 15th as they host LeMoyne Owen College. Tip-off is set for 6:00 P.M. in the Dawg Pound.
