Bulldogs Escape Late Run; Defeats LeMoyne
Tougaloo, Miss - The Tougaloo College Bulldogs hosted the Magicians of LeMoyne Owen College on Thursday night in the Dawg Pound. After trailing the entire contest, the Magicians attempted a late run, but the Bulldogs held on to take an 85-77 victory to complete a season sweep of the Magicians.
The Bulldogs (5-6) jumped out to an early 17-11 lead within the first four minutes of the contest. The Magicians fought back against the Bulldogs, but the Bulldogs took a 42-33 halftime lead over the Magicians. In the second half of play, the Bulldogs led by as many as thirteen before the Magicians shaved the lead to 4 with 6:45 left in game before the Bulldogs went on a 7-2 run to secure the victory.
Christopher Wallace led all scorers with a season-high 33 points. Jarmell Anderson followed with 15 points and Andravious Smith and Anfernee Parker chipped in 13 points apiece. Smith has tacked in a game-high 12 rebounds for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are off until January 7th when they open conference play against Xavier University. Tip-off is set for 7:30 in the Convocation Center in New Orleans.
