Bulldogs Complete Season Sweep of Texas College

Tyler, Tex. - The Tougaloo College Bulldogs completed a season sweep of Texas College tonight in Tyler as they escaped a late run to picked up the 70-64 victory over the Steers. The Bulldogs advanced to 3-1 on the season.

After a slow start in the first half of play, the Bulldogs trailed the Steers 29-25 at halftime. However, in the second half, the Bulldogs outscored the Steers by 10 (45-35) to escape with the victory. The Bulldogs struggle offensively, shooting 41% from the field, 21% from behind the arc and 65% from the free throw line. The Steers forced the Bulldogs to 18 turnovers, but the Bulldogs outrebounded the Steers 45-39.

Andravious Smith led the Bulldogs with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Jadarius Haymer followed with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Christopher Wallace tacked in 12 points. The Bulldogs return to action on Friday night as they travel to Marshall, TX to take on Wiley College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 P.M.
